We Provide Preschool & School Age Programs
Preschool Programs
The Children’s House offers a variety of educational opportunities, depending on each child’s social and emotional needs. We provide a nurturing, research-based curriculum based on early brain research that provides children with intentional, age-appropriate learning opportunities. Our school is family owned and our goal is to work together with your family to discover your child’s unique spirit and to aid each child’s development and growth, including children with special needs. We nurture each child’s talents and provide opportunities to grow and learn by building on daily successes. Children’s House enrolls a family, not only your child, and we look forward to sharing this journey together. We are accredited by the National Association for Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Our children have activity choices organized around five developmental domains and our teachers use differentiated teaching methods using the theories of John Dewey, Maria Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Jean Piaget, Lev Vygotsky, Howard Gardner and the father of play David Elkind to meet the needs of all learners. Our classrooms are designed with intention and purpose to move children forward in their development. All classrooms immerse children in a language-rich environment essential for developing both receptive and expressive language skills and we expose all children to dual languages. Our classrooms all include circle times using high-interest books, stories, songs, poems and chants that will delight your child. The activity choices catering to each age group of each classroom include activities in cognitive development of math, science, practical life/social studies, movement and language arts. Every classroom participates in our Music Together program that builds basic music competence by age five and introduces your child to worldwide music. Our focus is developing early childhood minds through multiple and carefully planned experiences. All children become a member of a small family group and have a small family group teacher who communicates with you about your child’s days with us. We serve children aged eighteen months to six years and operate as a community of children, families and teachers to create a joyful and loving experience.
We offer the following classes each day: Toddlers, Twos and Mid-Twos, Early-Threes and Threes, Young Fours and PreK. Our classes start at 8:45am and run until 1:00pm, 3:15pm or 5:15pm. Optional early drop off starting at 8:00am is available.
Before & After School Care
The Children’s House Clubhouse is a school-age child care program for children in grades TK-6. Children’s House is committed to the healthy development of each child through individual attention and encouragement, as well as through group participation and sharing. Our goal is to provide each child with a safe, caring and cheerful environment in which they can make friends, learn new skills, and continue to develop self-esteem. While in our care many children participate in on campus after school activities such as language, science, sports and scouts.
Our before school care opens at 7:30am and is open until elementary school classes begin each morning at 8:30am (K-6th) or 8:45am (TK). Our after school programs begin at dismissal from elementary school until 6:00pm on each school day. We also offer child care over the breaks during the normal school year.
